The best roulette strategy for beginners is first, to play the game. The first time I played roulette it was exiting and scary at the same time. I think i got some dirty looks from the dealer when I stuck my hand onto the board and tried to drag my winnings towards me. Not waiting till the 'marker' is removed is a big no no, as well has high fiving, and leaning on the glass protection around the wheel. But, this is all part of the roulette experience, and the best way to learn the game is to play it. Hopefully, after reading this article you will be able to confidently play and win at roulette.

Most likely if your playing in the U.S you will play on a table with a 0 and 00. This is called the American Roulette table, its the standard table used in most of the casinos in the U.S. The other table is the European Table which only has the one 0. This will be explained in more detail in an upcoming article.

The object of roulette is to place chips on a number that you think will hit. Some people like to bet on their lucky numbers, the amount of fingers and toes they have, and even on birthday dates; it really depends on the players preference. Now let's see how the game is played.

There is a roulette wheel containing 36 numbers either in black or red and the two zeros--0 and 00 placed around the wheel. A ball is spun by a dealer while the wheel itself spins, when the ball loses momentum it may fall in a number that you have strategically guessed it would fall into, and at that point you win. You don't need to limit yourself to placing on chip over one number, you can split a chip between 2,3,4,5 or 6 numbers. You can also bet on red or black, evens or odds, or in sections. The more numbers you are splitting with a chip the less you will get paid, and some bets only pay 3 to 2 or even money like the betting on red or black. But these will also be explained in detail in another article.

Some other good things to know when approaching a table is to-

1. Never lean on the glass surrounding the roulette wheel-unless you want your hands chopped off.
2. To play you must at least 'buy in' for a stack which is usually $20.
3. After the ball starts rolling the dealer will most likely wave their hand to signify 'no more bets,' do not make anymore bets after this point.
4. The 'marker' is the boss, no chips will be collected or placed on the table till it is removed.
5. Roulette table chips have no value away from the roulette table, so you will need to trade them in for the ones that pay.

Roulette is a thrilling game and very easy to play, once the basics are understood you can move on to roulette strategy and how it makes the game much more exciting especially when you win.
